Le m\u00e9lanome est un cancer de la peau. Il n\u00e9cessite une prise en charge rapide pour limiter son extension \u00e0 d\u2019autres organes.<\/p>\n

D\u00e9fintion<\/span><\/b>
Le m\u00e9lanome est un cancer cutan\u00e9. Il s\u2019agit d\u2019une tumeur canc\u00e9reuse qui se d\u00e9veloppe \u00e0 partir d\u2019un certain type de cellules de la peau appel\u00e9es m\u00e9lanocytes.
Symptomes<\/span><\/b>
Parfois le m\u00e9lanome correspond \u00e0 un grain de beaut\u00e9 qui se modifie, mais il peut aussi s\u2019agir de l\u2019apparition d\u2019une tache pigment\u00e9e qui s\u2019\u00e9tend progressivement, change de forme et dont la couleur devient inhomog\u00e8ne. Plus rarement, le m\u00e9lanome se pr\u00e9sente sous la forme d\u2019une boule ayant la teinte de la peau normale et qui augmente rapidement de volume. Il peut \u00eatre localis\u00e9 n\u2019importe o\u00f9 sur la peau, y compris le cuir chevelu, ainsi que sur les muqueuses.<\/p>\n

Les m\u00e9lanomes peuvent survenir \u00e0 tout \u00e2ge, mais sont plus fr\u00e9quents apr\u00e8s 20 ans. Ils connaissent un pic vers 40-50 ans. Ils peuvent \u00e9voluer rapidement.
Le diagnostic ne peut \u00eatre fait que par l\u2019examen au microscope de la tumeur retir\u00e9e chirurgicalement. Cette analyse est r\u00e9alis\u00e9e par le m\u00e9decin anatomopathologiste.<\/p>\n

Il existe diff\u00e9rents stades de m\u00e9lanome qui d\u00e9pendent de l\u2019\u00e9paisseur de la tumeur dans la peau, d\u00e9termin\u00e9e par l\u2019examen au microscope. Un traitement \u00e0 un stade pr\u00e9coce permet une gu\u00e9rison totale. Lorsqu\u2019un m\u00e9lanome n\u2019est pas trait\u00e9, il risque de se propager \u00e0 d\u2019autres organes. Il est donc important de faire le diagnostic tr\u00e8s pr\u00e9cocement et de l\u2019enlever chirurgicalement pour \u00e9viter que les cellules canc\u00e9reuses ne se propagent aux ganglions proches (ganglions inguinaux situ\u00e9s pr\u00e8s de l\u2019aine, ganglions axillaires situ\u00e9s sous les bras ou ganglions cervicaux et sus-claviculaires situ\u00e9s au niveau du cou), puis \u00e0 d\u2019autres parties du corps comme le cerveau, le foie, les poumons, les os\u2026<\/p>\n

Traitement<\/span><\/b>
Si le m\u00e9lanome est peu \u00e9pais (moins de 1 mm), le traitement est uniquement la chirurgie. Pour des tumeurs un peu plus \u00e9paisses, on peut parfois proposer, apr\u00e8s la chirurgie, un traitement par interf\u00e9ron, dont le m\u00e9decin vous expliquera les effets secondaires possibles (fatigue ou \u00e9tat grippal). A des stades plus avanc\u00e9s, il existe aujourd\u2019hui de nouveaux traitements dits cibl\u00e9s. Dans tous les cas, diff\u00e9rents sp\u00e9cialistes \u00e9tudieront votre dossier afin de d\u00e9finir le traitement le mieux adapt\u00e9 \u00e0 votre situation pr\u00e9cise. Apr\u00e8s en avoir discut\u00e9 avec vous, ce traitement va \u00eatre consign\u00e9 dans votre PPS (programme personnalis\u00e9 de soins), qui vous sera remis. Il sera \u00e9galement d\u00e9cid\u00e9 dans quel \u00e9tablissement vous serez pris en charge.
